Live Out Loud

Wow. I cannot believe it's been over a month since I've updated. I haven't been too committed to this blog.  I do apologize.

Anyhoo..
I have been crazy busy since the beginning of this year. I've been trying to finish my senior year (woo hoo!), getting ready to take off to Texas this summer, and also getting ready for college. It's been pretty insane around here but I think I like it.

I have started a new event at church called Momentum. I had been praying about what I could do for awhile, and this idea kept coming to me. I finally decided to go for it and see where God would take it. Of course, you cannot do for God without the devil showing up. There are times where I get discouraged but I can't give up. I know that God is in this, and I have a passion for the youth at SBBC. Momentum is pretty much something I thought of for teens, such as myself, to come to without worrying about tradition, coming together, getting into God's word, uniting as a youth group and just having fun with each other. I really hope that this is something that will be able to grow and continue on. So far there has been a lot of positive feedback. I am really excited about it. God is going to do some great things. I just have to remember that it is not about me, it's about Jesus Christ. That is who I live for. As long as He is first in everything, I will not fall.

My best friend, Ashley showed me a few verses that have stuck with me.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne. Think of all the hostility He endured from sinful people; then you won't become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin." - Hebrews 12:1-4

God has a plan for your life. It may get tough at times, you may think it's not worth it, you may feel alone, you might get discouraged, but don't give up. God's going to be with you through it all, and He's got a purpose for everything.
